Retardation characteristics and birefringence of a multiple-order crystalline quartz plate

A crystalline quartz plate of thickness 1.070 mm is calibrated between 370 and 794 nm. Throughout this spectral interval, the retardance varied by 32π and the plate introduced quarterwave retardance 16 times at different wavelengths. The birefringence (n_e−n_o) of crystalline quartz was calculated as a single quantity and varied from 0.00971 at 370 nm to 0.00891 at 794 nm. All measurements were carried out at 23°C.     

Identification of nonlinear elliptic equations

An optimization theoretic approach and algorithm for the estimation of state-dependent coefficients in nonlinear elliptic equation is presented. It is based on a splitting method combined with convex analysis techniques. Convergence of the algorithm is established and numerical examples are included.The research of K. 研究了无应力作用条件下，均匀、各向同性、圆柱形微极结构弹性板中波的传播．导出了对称和斜对称模式下波传播的特征方程．对短波这一极端情况，无应力圆板中对称和斜对称模态波的特征方程退化为Pmyle曲表面波频率方程．并得到薄板的计算结果．给出了位移和微转动分量，并绘制了相应图形．给出了若干特殊情况的研究结果及对称和斜对称模态特征方程的图示．     

A graphical approach to computing Selmer groups of congruent number curves

Let E _n:y ²=x ³−n ² x denote the family of congruent number elliptic curves. Feng and Xiong (2004) equate the nontriviality of the Selmer groups associated with E _n to the presence of certain types of partitions of graphs associated with the prime factorization of n. In this paper, we extend the ideas of Feng and Xiong in order to compute the Selmer groups of E _n. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification Primary—11G05; Secondary—14H52, 14H25, 05C90

如何增大非相干光学成像系统的焦深是应用光学研究领域的热点问题.本文对采用高次非球面光学掩模板与图像处理相结合增大成像光学系统焦深的新方法进行了深入分析,建立了大焦深成像系统仿真实验模型,并进行了大焦深成像系统仿真实验.实验结果证明了该方法在维持原相对孔径的同时使光学系统在较大的离焦范围内有好的成像质量.实际应用中还要综合考虑模板参量、信噪比等关键因素.
